Deepest Underwater Railway Tunnel!

• The world deepest underwater tunnel is connecting the eastern and western parts of istanbul.
• This is the first tunnel connects two continents,it joins the asian and european halves of turkey’s largest city together.
• The project was first thought up by an ottoman sultan in the 1860s, but received more timely backing from current prime minister recep tayyip erdogan.

• The project work started in 2004, it is capable of carrying 75,000 per hour in both directions, the railway tunnel named “marmaray” , it is opened on turkish 90th anniversary,the tunnel is 8.5 miles long,it was completed with help from japan.
