HMMMM BIRYANI!!!!

If you were thinking that biryani was an Indian dish, and then i am sorry to disappoint you, unfortunately biryani is not really our dish it originated from Persia. Most of us are so fond of this amazing dish that we don't really care to know from where it was originally originated, as long as it originates from our mom's kitchen and ends up in our stomach we are satisfied.

Here are a few amazing facts you didn’t know about your favourite dish BIRYANI. Being a Persian dish it’s originally named as BIRIAN in pharsi as in 'Fried before cooking'.

It originated from Persia, passed through Afghanistan and conquered India. It was during the Mughal Empire that biryani came into India and stole the hearts of the Mughal dynasty. The great city of Awadh now known as Lucknow gave birth to its first biryani in India. It was named Awadh Biryani. Later on in the year of 1856, Calcutta gave rise to another type biryani and named it Calcutta Biryani. This happened as the Nawab Wajid Ali Shah was dethroned by the British.

The infamous Hyderabadi biryani came into existence in the reign of Aurangzeb. Tipu Sultan became very fond of this dish and brought it to Mysore. From all this amazing history of this great dish we can renounce that it is a dish of Royalty. Some of the legends say that it came into the southern parts of India from SriLanka and Indonesia.
To speak of the styles and types of the biryani there are a total of 14 styles and 8 types. Could you imagine that till now you might have had like 2 or 3 types of biryanis; But to have all the 8 types? Wouldn’t that be an achievement to be proud of!!
