HOW TO SUPPRESS A DEPRESSING MIND



  • The best way to get over depression is to suppress those thoughts that cause them
  • Although thought suppression is a popular form of mental control, research has indicated that it can be counterproductive; helping assure the very state of mind one had hoped to avoid.
  • The more you cultivate your social connections, the more protected you are from depression.
  • If you are feeling stuck, don’t hesitate to talk to trusted family members or friends, or seek out new connections at a depression support group, for example. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness
  • Exercise, nutrition, sleep and social support helps in stress reduction and also leads to a happy mind
