5. Can I buy a used one?

6. Would someone be willing to split the cost and share this with me?

7. Can I buy or commission one made locally?

  • Look in any magazine, newspaper, Internet site, or on any city street and you’ll see ads everywhere. On billboards, vehicles, T-shirts, and in some instances, even people (don’t try that at home). And what are all these ads telling us? That we will not be happy, healthy, wealthy, wise, popular, or anything else–unless we buy these products.

  • So what do we do? We buy. And every time we buy, we create demand, create waste, consume energy, and invariably, in the long run make ourselves less happy. Sure that iPhone rocks, but only until the new one comes out, and then you’ve got to jump on the train and consume again right?
Live sustainably.

JUST QUIT.!!

JUST QUIT.!!

Just quit
We often get stuck in a hamster wheel of habit. We do things that aren’t good for us, remain where we shouldn’t and put ourselves through voluntary suffering all in the name of comfort. But a rare few snap out of it. House of Cards gives you an insight into the 6 things you need to quit doing, which will help you reinvent yourself.
Quit Stopping: They say that at the very moment you want to quit, you’re actually almost there. Remember why you started it, then push onward. If you stop and think about quitting, you’ll never know what it feels like to reach the finish line.
Quit Saying Tomorrow— You know the saying, ‘Yesterday you said tomorrow?’ Delaying something that you think is important means one of two things: you’re either scared to start because it means your life will change or you want it for the wrong reasons. Get things done!
Quit Being A Victim— You have a choice in everything you do. If you’re choosing to remain in a place that isn’t positive, you’re victimizing yourself. If you seek advice and respond with ‘but I can’t’ too many times, you officially become a victim.
Quit Saying Yes— Whenever we say yes to something, we’re saying no to something else. Analyze when you’re saying yes and what you’re trading it for. You might find yourself saying yes to things you don’t even care about and no to things that could make your life better in some way.
Quit Expecting— If you really have your heart set on something (like a promotion), you must be vocal about it. If you don’t speak up, you’re leaving the translation up to them. Expect at your own risk.
Quit Avoiding— We all have things we don’t want to do, but we have to do them because we’re adults. You can’t pluck the fun parts out and leave the tough parts on the table. Quit avoiding it. There will be rewards along the way and there will be a great sense of accomplishment at the end.

7 Management Lessons from Mahabharata

7 Management Lessons from Mahabharata

mahabharata
If you want to be the best leader, Mahabharata should be your guide. You may think that the Indian epic is obsolete and archaic, but you’d be surprised to know how much relevance it holds in today’s world, especially when it comes to your work life. Here are 7 management lessons you must learn from Mahabharata today.
Seize Every Opportunity :-
Look out for opportunities outside your scope of work. Never hassle yourself too much with the motive of defeating your competitor. Rather, invest all energies on a bigger goal – to add strength and power to your business.
Win Allies :-
Five brothers won against a hundred. How do you think Pandavas did that? The relationships they established over the years paid off. You may be busy focussing on your own growth at the present, but you must start reaching out to more people and making allies. They will push you forward when the time comes.
Distribute Work :-
The more people you have, working towards different goals, the more efficient the output is going to be. One-man leadership strategy didn’t work for Kauravas and there is no way it’s going to work for you.
Know How To Build Your Team Spirit :-
Kauravas were plenty in number but null in strength. Make your team work towards a single goal instead of personal ones. Take contributions from everyone. Hear everyone out; make them learn how to work with each other.
Give Your Team Individual Goals :-
Allot individual goals to each team. This will help build up enthusiasm and in turn, help you in the longer run. Even though Pandavas were working towards the same ultimate goal, they had individual roles in the battle too.
Commitment – Keep It Strong :-
Once you’re up for a challenge, do not back out. Had Pandavas fretted about being negligible in number in comparison to the Kauravas, they would’ve never even tried. Determination and commitment will surely take you a long way.
Know Every Member’s Potential :-
If you’re going to manage a team, you better know what role they suit the best. Pandavas knew how to harnesses energies from each man in their army. You should be smart enough to use your team’s ability and potential to the maximum.

Always Let Your Boss Have The First Say!!

This is the story about “always let your boss have the first say”, we don’t let it happen all the time.
  • A sales rep,
  • an administration clerk, and
  • the manager
A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, “I’ll give each of you just one wish”.
  • Me first! Me first!” says the administration clerk. “I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.” Poof! She’s gone.
  • Me next! Me next!” says the sales rep. “I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.” Poof! He’s gone.
  • OK, you’re up,” the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, “I want those two back in the office after lunch.”

Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.

Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook CEO)
  • “WhatsApp will complement our existing chat and messaging services to provide new tools for our community.” Over 450 million people use WhatsApp each month, according to statistics in the press release, with 70 percent of those users active on a given day. WhatsApp co-founder and CEO Jan Koum will join Facebook’s board of directors as part of the deal, but his team will remain stationed in Mountain View, California.
  • “Doing this will give WhatsApp the flexibility to grow and expand, while giving me, Brian, and the rest of our team more time to focus on building a communications service that’s as fast, affordable and personal as possible,”he said in a blog post. According to Kuam, users don’t need to worry about ads “interrupting your communication.” “There would have been no partnership between our two companies if we had to compromise on the core principles that will always define our company, our vision and our product,” he said.
 3.2
  • WhatsApp had every option in the world, so I’m thrilled that they chose to work with us. I’m looking forward to what Facebook and WhatsApp can do together, and to developing great new mobile services that give people even more options for connecting.
About WhatsApp
  • WhatsApp, founded in 2009 by former Yahoo engineers Jan Koum and Brian Acton.
  • The app served as an alternative to SMS by letting users send messages for free across smartphone platforms.
  • It currently has more than 450 million people who use the app every day.
  • Jan Koum, WhatsApp’s cofounder and CEO.
Zuckerberg and Koum nailed down the deal last weekend. As part of the acquisition, Koum will join Facebook’s board of directors.

The deal has been approved by the boards of both companies and is subject to regulatory approval. Facebook expects the deal to close later this year.
